The romantic love saga "Raanjhanaa" has seen a downward slope at the box office this week. The Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer has raked in a total ₹67 crore till the third weekend at the worldwide box office.
This year there were no big hit films except for "Aashiqui 2", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Race 2". Most of the films released this year had an average performance or were declared flops in India.
But the big-budget love story has been declared a box office hit. "Raanjhanaa" has joined the league of hit films released in 2013, but it's very unlikely that it would cross the ₹100 crore mark in India.
The film, which was release in a limited number of screens, has entered its third week and is facing slight competition from last week's release "Lootera".
The film, which received mixed reviews from critics, has seen a decline after the release of "Ghanchakkar" and "Lootera". Both films reduced the screen count of "Raanjhanaa" in India, which affected its business.
Moreover, Farhan Akhtar's "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" is releasing this Friday. The film has received appreciation from Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and among others.
"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will also affect the business of "Raanjhanaa", preventing it from crossing the ₹100 crore mark at the box office.
It seems like that the film might not make it to the mark at worldwide box office too. The film requires another ₹33 crore, which is slightly impossible for the film to achieve in its remaining theatrical run.
