Bollywood's latest release, "Raanjhanaa" has received very good response from moviegoers in India as well as international market.
The film earned ₹5.15 crore on the opening from around 1,000 screens at domestic box office.
The love story featuring Sonam Kapoor and south star Dhanush in the lead roles opened to an average occupancy of 30 to 35 percent, but it picked up in the evening. The film is expected to witness a huge jump in its collection during the weekend.
"Raanjhanaa" did well in North circuits like Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The collections from single screens on the first day was really good, and collections from multiplexes wasn't bad either.
"Raanjhanaa *first show* New Vasant, Bhilai 20,335 ... Raj, Raipur 24,318 ... Superb start for the film," trade analyst Taran Adrash tweeted.

Anand L Rai's directorial love saga opened well in international arena too. On the opening day, the film raked in ₹1.36 crore from the US, Canada, UK, Australia and UAE.

The romantic film marks the debut of Tamil film actor and Rajinikanth's son-in-law, Dhanush. It also features Abhay Deol and Zeeshan Ayub in important roles.
