Apart from film critics and audiences, the film and the actors' performances have garnered appreciation from B-town celebrities. Before the release, Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor appreciated the Dhanush's and Sonam's roles. And now, Anil Kapoor, Sonam's father, has also praised the film and his daughter's performance.
"The biggest compliment for me was when my dad saw the film...and usually he is my biggest critic....He told me, 'There is not one false moment from you'," Sonam said.
Also, Neil Nitin Mukesh also showered praises on the actress. "Sonam in Raanjhanaa is completely transformed. I can see the change in her. I feel it would be like a new beginning for her. It's like what happened to Karisma Kapoor after Raja Hindustani or Shabana Azmi in Arth," he said, according to Bollywood Hungama.
