The special screening of Rajkumar Santoshi's "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" was held in Mumbai on Thursday, and it was graced by almost all the family members of Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
The action comedy film featuring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead roles was released on Friday (20 September).
Interestingly, almost all the family members of the Khan family were seen at the "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" special screening. Salman Khan's parents Salim and Salma Khan, step-mother Helen, and sister Alvira and her husband Atul Agnihotri attended the event. Sangeeta Bijlani, who is close to the Khan family, was also seen bonding with Salman's mother and others. However, the actor who has a special appearance in the film could not make it, as he was busy shooting for his next film, "Mental".
"Phata Poster Nikla Hero" has received unfavourable reviews from critics, with some dubbing it as a film with a messy storyline. They are of the opinion that there is nothing new in the film and Rajkumar Santoshi, who had delivered hits like "Ghayal", "Andaz Apna Apna" and "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani", could have come up with a better story. A film critic has even said that Salman Khan's cameo role that lasted for about two minutes was the best moment of the film.
The film is about an aspiring actor, played by Shahid, who is mistaken for a police officer.
Produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Music Films, "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" has an item number by actress Nargis Fakri. It also features actors like Padmini Kolhapure, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra in supporting roles.
