Salman Khan's huge fan following on the big screen will be seen once again in the upcoming comedy "Phata Poster Nikla Hero".
"Phata Poster Nikla Hero" has Shahid Kapoor playing a wannabe actor who is mistaken for a police officer. The film, which also features Ileana D'Cruz, will be released on 23 August.
Recently, during the film's promotions Shahid revealed that his character is an ardent fan of Salman and idolizes him. He also said that Salman will be playing a cameo role in the film.
"He (Shahid's character) is a very big fan of Salman Khan and in one scene we have even worn a 'Being Human' t-shirt and in another scene, the character has gone to buy vegetables with his mother and his hands are full and he is eating a banana standing and watching the poster of Dabangg 2."
Speaking of the "Dabanng" actor's graciousness Shahid said, "There's a little scene in the film where Salman sir is there...Salman sir was kind enough to do a special appearance in the film."
The last time an actor played the role of a die-hard fan of Salman was in "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" where Bobby Deol was seen sporting heart-shaped "Dabanng" style aviators and standing by the posters of the superstar.
Salman's guest appearance in "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" seems to be a lucky charm for director Rajkumar Santoshi who also had the actor playing himself in Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer "Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahaani" in 2009.
Salman had worked with Santoshi in the cult comedy "Andaz Apna Apna" (1994) with Aamir Khan.
