Star Plus' "Mad in India" (MII) is desperately trying to up its game and is now planning to bring new changes in the show.
Recently, the comedy show, which has failed miserably in terms of ratings, saw the exit of its star host Manish Paul. Paul is said to have opted out of the show due to its poor audience response, added with credible film offers.
Now the makers of the show have decided to bring major changes hiring new actors and doing away with sloppy characters.
The show's prominent character "Chutki" played by Sunil Grover is expected to be given the limelight. Apart from this, Chunky Pandey has been roped in to play a significant role along with funny man Krushna Abhishek.
"I will be like a bounce board. All the jokes will go through me. Even I am being made fun of," Pandey told DNA on his role in "MII," but maintained that it was nowhere similar to Navjot Singh Sidhu's role in "Comedy Nights with Kapil" (CNWK).
"I have seen lots of ups and downs in my career and one can always bounce back. The entire show is being revamped and the content is excellent," explained Pandey.
Meanwhile, Krushna Abhishek, better known for his "Comedy Circus" stint in Sony Television will also be a part of "MII" and is expected to take on Mainish Paul's place in the show, reported The Times of India.
Not many know that Abhishek shares a bitter-sweet relation with Kapil Sharma. The duo had previously appeared together in "Comedy Circus" and Abhishek had cried foul when Sharma was declared as the show's winner in 2011. He went to insist that the results were rigged and show's producers were biased towards Sharma, carried an old report.
However, a lot has changed since then, as Sharma went on to launch his own production "CNWK" successfully and Abhishek has continued his association with "Comedy Circus" and starred in several films in the mean time.
