Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" has earned over ₹269 crore at the worldwide box office. The superhero flick, which released on 1 November, has performed extremely well in India, as well as overseas markets.
"Krrish 3" earned ₹231.46 crore (as of 16 November) at the Indian box office, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express", which fetched ₹227.13 crore lifetime figures. The Hrithik starrer has also become the fastest film to cross the ₹200-crore mark. It took the film just 10 days to reach ₹200 crore in collections, whereas "Chennai Express" took 15 days to achieve that feat.
According to Bollywoodhungama, "Krrish 3 earned a total of ₹269.9 crore in worldwide collections. The film was released in 550 screens at overseas markets, including United Kingdom, United States of America / Canada, United Arab Emirates / G.C.C., Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Pakistan, Singapore, Netherlands, Mauritius, South Africa and Belgium.
The science-fiction flick received roaring response upon its release, thanks to Hrithik's star power and the successful franchise. However, its collections have dropped since the release of Ranveer-Deepika's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela." The film's collections might decline further in the next week as another biggie - "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" - is all set to hit the screens.
"Krrish 3" is the third installment in the superhero franchise, following "Koi Mil Gaya" (2003) and "Krrish" (2006). These two films have been big hits at the box office. "Krrish 3" has also turned out to be a successful film. According to reports, director Rakesh Roshan is planning a fourth installment of the film. It remains to be seen as to when the film will take off.
With the success of "Krrish 3", Hrithik has given three back-to-back hits, including "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" and "Agneepath." The actor will be next seen in "Bang Bang" and "Shuddhi."
