'Krrish 3' Box Office Collection: Hrithik Starrer Becomes 5th Highest Grossing Film in India; Earns ₹175 Crore

Hrithik Roshan starrer "Krrish 3" is continuing its marvelous theatrical run at the domestic box office in its second week. The collection on second Friday was low compared to Thursday but it still raked in ₹9 crore.

The overall domestic total of the film after second Friday stands at ₹175.68 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. The superhero film is doing way better than blockbuster hit "Chennai Express" and in terms of collection "Krrish 3" has overtaken "Chennai Express".

The eight day total of "Chennai Express" was ₹163.2 crore, while "Krrish 3" is ₹175.68 crore.

The superhero flick which is directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan is one of the most expensive films in India. The makers have not revealed the budget but, as per reports the production cost of the film is between ₹100 - ₹150 crore.

The film has now become the fifth highest grosser of the year with ₹175.68 crore in its pocket. It is now set to break the lifetime records of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

The romantic film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" in its four weeks box office run had made a business of about ₹188.57 crore.

"Chennai Express" tops the list with ₹226 crore followed by "3 Idiots" with ₹202.47 crore and "Ek Tha Tiger" with ₹198.78 crore.

The mega-budget film is now set for grand second weekend. This Friday release "Satya 2" has failed to impress the critics and is likely not to affect "Krrish 3" domestic run.
