"Kochadaiyaan" has been in the making for the last one year or so. The first look posters of Rajini in a dual avatar created quite a stir on the internet. The trailer of "Kochadaiyaan" was scheduled for release at the Cannes film festival in May but it couldn't make it as the team was working on the final output of the trailer.
The delay in the film's making led to speculations that the Rajini-starrer was dropped. But the rumours were quashed by one of the producers - Murali Manohar - who revealed that "Kochadaiyaan" was not shelved.
"Kochadaiyaan" unit is expected to announce the release date soon. Rumours are doing the rounds that the film might hit the theatres this Diwali. The epic drama will be releasing in different languages including Tamil and Telugu.
Film director Soundarya announced that the Telugu version is titled "Vikramasimha and the dubbing began on 25 August. Soundarya posted a message on the twitter page saying, "Hi all ...Kochadaiiyaan is Vikramasimha in Telugu....Dubbing started for the Telugu version today!"
Both the versions are likely to have a simultaneous release. "Kochadaiyaan" is claimed to be the first Indian film with 3D motion capturing technology. Rajiniknath will appear in a dual role - as a father and as a son. Danseuse-cum-actress Shobana has been paired with the senior Rajini, while Deepika will be the son's love interest.
The other cast members of "Kochadaiyaan" include Sarath Kumar, Nassar, Aadhi and Jackie Shroff.
