The audio launch of Rajinikanth's magnum-opus "Kochadaiiyaan" (aka "Kochadaiyaan") is all set to take place on the eve of his birthday which falls on 12 December.
Earlier, it was reported that "Kochadaiiyaan" will hit screens on the aforementioned date. But the makers have fixed the specified date for the audio launch. They are planning to release the film for Pongal 2014.
Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, "Kochadaiyaan" will reportedly have Rajinikanth in triple roles. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will play the female lead for the first time in a Rajinikanth film. The other cast members include Nassar, Aadhi, Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff and Shobana.
The film's music is composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman. A single track from the album was released last month. The news about the audio launch and release date will be a real treat for Rajinikanth fans, who have been waiting to get updates on "Kochadaiiyaan".
According to the film's co-producer Dr Murali Manohar, "Kochadaiiyaan" team is planning to release the Rajini starrer tentatively on 10 January, a few days ahead of Pongal festival. Multiplexes and other screens have reportedly been told to block 10 January for the arrival of "Kochadaiiyaan." Theatre owners have decided to give first priority to Rajinikanth, said senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai.
The date will ensure a massive opening for "Kochadaiiyaan" considering the Pongal holiday. However, the Rajini starrer will not be the only biggie to hit screens during the harvest festival. Ajith's "Veeram" and Vijay's "Jilla" is also gearing up for release around the same time. Pongal can easily accommodate two films, which means that the release of a third film has to be delayed. It remains to be seen which film will back out from the Pongal race.
