Reports have confirmed that Salman Khan starring 'Kick' has roped in Jacqueline Fernandes dropping Deepika Padukone from the wish list.
The Sri Lankan beauty had apparently caught the attention of the film's makers after her raunchier performance in the blockbuster "Race 2".
"Nadiadwala wanted a fresh pair. And that's why he thought of several names before zeroing in on Jacqueline and Deepika. No one knew about Jacqueline even being considered for the role, but she has managed to bag it. Nadiadwala and Salman are impressed with her work," a source revealed to Hindustan Times.
Nadiadwala who will mark his directorial debut with the Salman starrer confirmed the news that Jacqueline has been signed up for the remake of the 2009 Telugu blockbuster.
"It is true Jacqueline is doing the film," Nadiadwala told Daily News Analysis.
The news has come as a surprise since earlier reports had clearly hinted at Deepika as the frontrunner for the role with Salman's desire to work with the 'Cocktail' actress.
Apparently, Deepika's growing proximity with Shah Rukh has not gone down well with the "Dabanng" star, thus paving the way for Jacqueline.
Meanwhile it has been reported that the superhit Telugu remake will be extensively shot in South Korea, Japan, London and India with highly stylized action moves.
The director is said to have signed in international stunts directors Philippe Guégan and Spiro Razatos and reputed Hollywood cinematographer Alexander Witt, who has films like "Pirates Of The Caribbean" (2003) and "Skyfall" (2012) to his credit.
The shooting for the film is expected to begin in July and may release during Eid next year.
The film has come as a fresh lease for Jacqueline, who had just parted ways with filmmaker Sajid Khan after three years of being together. His possessive attitude was reportedly affecting the actress' career graph.
