Actress Vidya Balan's latest flick "Kahaani" crossed Rs. 24 crores at the box office in the first week.
The film, released on March 9, tells the story of a pregnant woman called Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan), who flies down to Kolkata from London in search of her missing husband.
Meanwhile, the film earned Rs. 4.90 crores overseas.
Based on its performance at the box office, the film has been announced a "Hit" by various film critics.
"No One Killed Jessica" and her latest super-hit film "The Dirty Picture" (2011) are some of Vidya's critically acclaimed female-centric films.
"The Dirty Picture" collected around Rs. 117 crores at the box office.
