"Jab Tak Hai Jaan", starring Shah Rukh Khan, had a great opening and is expected to cross the ₹200 crore mark at the box office soon but Aamir Khan's latest offering, "Talaash: The Answer Lies Within" could affect the collection of "JTHJ".
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" was released in about 2,500 screens worldwide on November 13 (Diwali) and has earned ₹177.63 crore worldwide so far after collecting ₹15.23 crore on the opening day itself.
"#JTHJ [2nd Week] Wed 2.48 cr. Total: Rs 116.29 cr nett," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh about the domestic box office collection of Shah Rukh Khan's film.
It is reported that the makers of "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", could at least earn a profit of ₹80 crore from the film including profits from theatricals, overseas, satellite, music and home videos.
However, the release of "Talaash" featuring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor could affect the collection of "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". Adding more salt to the wound, the collection of "JTHJ" has dipped over the last few days.
"Talaash" is releasing on Friday (November 30) in 2,500 screens in India and 520 screens overseas.
"#Talaash final *Overseas* screen count is 520 screens. A record for an Aamir Khan starrer... #3Idiots was 415 screens," tweeted Taran Adarsh.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and directed by Reema Kagti, "Talaash" was supposed to be released in June but was postponed due to Aamir Khan's prior commitments.
