The satirical video "It's Your Fault" which went viral on the internet will soon have a Hindi version of it, actress Kalki Koechlin revealed.

The video created by a group of four standup comedians - Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya - sarcastically blames sexual assault victims and mocks public figures who have made controversial statement.

The video featuring actress Kalki Koechlin and VJ Juhi Pandey has gone viral on social networking sites since it was uploaded on YouTube on 19 September. The video has been viewed more than 1,270,000 times and has received over 6,000 comments till Wednesday.

The video has received good responses from the audiences and several of them have asked for the Hindi and other language version so that the message is spread to wider audiences.

Gursimran Khamba, one of the four stand-up comedians, also confirmed that they are working with some of their friends for the Hindi version.

"Sarcasm and irony work differently in Hindi and a literal translation of this video would just not work. We didn't want to pander or end up being preachy. However, given the response, we're considering working with some of our friends who write in Hindi to see how we can do this in a way where the message doesn't get lost," Khamba said.

"One cannot reach everyone though a single video, and now that people have requested variants we're looking into the possibility very seriously."

Even actress Kalki while speaking to Hindustan Times said that "Hopefully, we will have a Hindi version out soon and others will follow."

"It's Your Fault" video is a response for the rising rape cases in the country. The video focuses on marital rape, which is rarely even discussed in Indian society.

The clip also showcases topics that have created controversies such as provocative clothing like jeans and skirts that invite sexual assault on women, late night parties, going out with boys and others. [Read the report here]
