Arya-Anushka's much-awaited film "Irandam Ulagam" (Second World) has received a clean "U" certificate from the censor board.
The censor board members are reportedly in awe after watching the final product of the film which is directed by Selvaraghavan. The film is now confirmed for release on 22 November, while its Telugu version titled "Varna" will also be releasing simultaneously on the same day as the Tamil version.
"Irandam Ulagam", deemed as a fantasy thriller, involves a lot of CG work that will be a visual treat for the audiences. Director Selvaraghavan is known for his unique style of filmmaking. His past releases have not just been critically acclaimed, but also commercially successful.
Expectations for "Irandam Ulagam", which reportedly deals with one love story that spans two worlds, are quite high due to the impressive trailers and songs. The film's music is composed by Harris Jeyaraj and the backgrounds scores are by Anirudh of "Vanakkam Chennai" fame.
Cinematography is handled by Ramji and editing work is done by Kola Baskar. The film's visual effects have been supervised by Keith Devlin, whereas Zura Nanobashvili has coordinated the action sequences. Stephen Gomes, who has worked in Hindi films like "Agneepath" (2012) and "Lagaan", is the sound engineer for the Selvaraghavan directorial.
"Irandam Ulagam" will be Arya's fourth release this year after "Settai", "Raja Rani" and "Arrambam". The actor is on a roll following three back-to-back successful films this year. While "Settai" is a decent grosser, "Raja Rani" is declared a hit. "Arrambam", co-starring Ajith, is running to packed houses in theatres. It remains to be seen if Arya will be able to score another hit with "Irandam Ulagam".
The fantasy thriller is expected to have a massive worldwide release on 22 November, considering that the project is backed by PVP Cinema, one of the largest production houses in the country. The Arya starrer is likely to take a fantastic opening on the first day of its release even though it will face strong competition from other releases.
