Even as the buzz surrounding "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD) are yet to die down, speculations about Pawan Kalyan's next film have started doing the rounds.
It has already been reported that Kalyan will soon begin shooting for his next film, a sequel to 2012-blockbuster "Gabbar Singh". It has been confirmed that the film will be directed by Sampath Nandi and not Harish Shankar who helmed the first part.
However, there is not much information available on the other cast of the sequel. Reports have been doing the rounds that actress Pranitha, who played a pivotal role in "AD", will be cast as the heroine in "Gabbar Singh 2". It has been said that Pawan was impressed with Pranitha's performance in the family entertainer and wants to have her as the leading lady for his next film. Powerstar has never starred with a heroine more than once, apart from former actress Renu Desai who has worked with him in two films.
It was a big surprise when news about Pranitha doing a second film with Pawan emerged. However, the reports doesn't seem to be true. Speaking to Bangalore Times, Pranitha refuted reports that she is doing "Gabbar Singh 2". Earlier, it was speculated that Sonakshi Sinha or Deepika Padukone would play female lead role. It is also not clear as to whether Shruti Haasan, who played the female lead in "Gabbar Singh", will be part of the sequel. An official confirmation on the lead heroine is yet to be made.
"Gabbar Singh", an action-packed entertainer, was a remake of Salman Khan's Bollywood flick "Dabangg". The sequel to this Hindi version titled "Dabangg 2" was released in 2012 and performed well at the box office. However, the Telugu sequel will not be a remake to the Hindi sequel but will instead be an original creation.
