The trailer of Mohit Suri's upcoming film "Ek Villain" has been unveiled.
The romantic thriller stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor in the lead along with Riteish Deshmukh. The two minute trailer of the film has an element of suspense to it.
Coming right after the "Aashiqui 2" success, director Suri moves away with the usual love story plot in "Ek Villain".
The film's promo begins with Malhotra and Kapoor romancing in beautiful locals, but the happy paradise is soon cut short. The trailer proceeds to show Malhotra in a mysterious brooding avatar akin to that of a negative character. The actor is seen indulging in violent acts and at one point, he is seen trying to kill his ladylove, Kapoor.
However, the mystery heightens when Riteish Deshmukh is referred as 'Villain' at the end of the trailer.
Gauging the promo, it can be remarked that the makers have managed to keep the film's plot intriguing. The suspense factor appears just right and justifies the film's uncanny title.
Malhotra's transition from the confused love struck lad in "Hasee Toh Phasee," to his dark intense looks is quite impressive, while Kapoor looks repetitive as the love struck goodie, much like her last film.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji films, "Ek Villain" also stars Amrita Puri and notorious celebrity Kamaal R Khan. The release date has been set for 27 June.
