Every Bollywood cinema lover is eagerly waiting to find out if "Dhoom 3" will shatter the records set by Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express." But "Dhoom 3" antagonist Aamir Khan seems uninterested in the box office race.
Earlier reports had claimed that Aamir is confident of breaking "Chennai Express" records. He denied such claims saying, "I am not interested in breaking records. I am an artist, and what gives me a high is to entertain my audience, to give them a good time, and to satisfy them emotionally."
"I want to earn the love of my audience. That is what I am thirsty for. I like to challenge myself and do work that I have not done. I like to surprise my audience. These are the things that I am interested in," he added.
It may be recalled that Aamir's film "3 Idiots" became the first Indian film to gross over ₹200 crore at the Indian box office. The comedy caper, which was released in 2009, was a massive blockbuster and its record was unbeatable until "Chennai Express" was released last month.
The Shah Rukh starrer was on a record smashing spree and grossed over ₹225 crore in India alone. With "Dhoom 3" release nearing, Bollywood is abuzz with speculations that the film will smash "Chennai Express" record.
"Dhoom 3" is the third installment in the successful "Dhoom" series. The first installment had John Abraham in a negative role, while "Dhoom 2" had Hrithik Roshan playing the antagonist. Now, its Aamir's turn to indulge in some action-packed stunt sequences.
Katrina Kaif plays the female lead and Abhiskek Bachchan reprises his cop role. He is joined by Uday Chopra, who plays his aide, Ali.
"Dhoom 3" is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and is produced by Yash Raj Films. The film is scheduled to release on 20 December, to cash in on the Christmas holidays.
