Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer action comedy film "Dabangg 2" has concluded its second week on a low note at the domestic box office.
With no new releases, Salman's movie dominated the box office, but failed to rake in some good collections in its second week, collecting approximately ₹43 crore, and taking the overall domestic total to ₹149.78 crore.
With ₹149.78 crore in India, it has become the third highest earning film in India, after Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" and Salman's "Ek Tha Tiger".
Arbaaz Khan's debut directorial movie received mixed to negative reviews from critics, but in terms of collection it did pretty well at the box offices.
After dominating the silver screen for two weeks, the movie is likely to brace some competition from five films that are released on Friday. All five films - "Table No 21", "Dehraadun Diary", "Dekha Jo Pehli Baar", "Meri Shadi Karao" and "Rajdhani Express" - will reduce the screen count of "Dabangg 2", ultimately affecting its business.
"Dabangg 2" will also face tough competition next week with the release of romantic comedy film "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola", which stars Anushka Sharma, Imraan Khan and Pankaj Kapoor in the lead roles.
"Dabangg 2" is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster "Dabangg". The film also features Vinod Khanna, Arbaaz Khan, Prakash Raj, Deepak Dobriyal, Sandeepa Dhar and Nikitan Dheer in supporting roles.
