New TV show "CID Karnataka," which went on air on Zee Kannada on 21 December, has received a fantastic response from the viewers. This biweekly show, which is telecast at 10.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, had created lot of buzz in the media, soon after it was announced.
Made on the lines of hit Hindi TV show "CID", "CID Karnataka" happens to be the first Kannada investigative TV serial. This crime thriller show, which will have 26 episodes, will feature former Karnataka Minister Shoba Karandlaje as Chief Minister, along with various celebrities in each episode.
"CID is a Crime investigative Series consists of hard-core police procedural stories dealing with investigation, detection and suspense. The stories are plausible and there is an emphasis on dramatic plotting and technical complexities faced by the police. At every stage, the plot throws up intriguing twists and turns keeping the officers on the move as they track criminals, led by the smallest of clues!" the maker of the show told The makers of the show say Zee Kannada.
"CID is a show about a team of dedicated cops who specialise in solving dormant and unsolved cases using a mix of new age technology and classical investigative wisdom. CID team consists of seven officers from different functions and disciplines within the department. Their areas of expertise range from advanced forensic techniques such as ballistics, DNA testing, Carbon dating etc. to graphology and clinical psychology. The fact that they come from different backgrounds enables them to complement each others' strengths in a unique way."
Having directed several plays, TV shows and movies since 1964, Kalagangotri Manju is now working on his first crime thriller serial. Sachin Suvarana, who has earlier starred in "Encounter Dayanayak," is now playing the role of ACP Arjun in this show, while "Bhajarangi" actor Lokesh appears as inspector Pratap. Veena Ponnappa, Teju Ponnappa, Hemanth and Anjali portray the roles of other members in the investigation team.
