It's been more than a month since "Chennai Express" has released, but the film is not stopping its run at box offices. The romantic comedy and family entertainer has crossed the $19 million (₹119 crore) mark in overseas market.
The gross worldwide total of the film is more than ₹419 crore. While the domestic gross collection is more than ₹300 crore, the nett earnings is ₹226.5 crore.
"Chennai Express" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone finished its six weeks run in international market, but still it has not wrapped up its business. "CE" was released in seven new markets internationally, which helped in the business.
"#ChennaiExpress crosses $ 19 million [₹119 cr] in international markets. Still running. More new markets on the anvil," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film has made a total business of around ₹33.11 crore ($ 5.28 million) from the US-Canada, ₹29.54 crore (AED 17.3 million) from UAE-GCC, ₹21.68 crore (£ 2.16 million) from UK, approximately, ₹5.6 crore ($ 900k) from Pakistan, ₹4.68 crore (A$ 800k) from Australia and ₹3.28 crore ($ 660k) from Singapore, according to Adarsh.
However, the film is still at the third position at overseas market. It failed to break "3 Idiots" and "My Name is Khan" record, which tops the overseas collection chart.
