Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer "Bullett Raja", released on 29 November, has unimpressive box office figures. Tigmanshu Dhulia's second release of the year, after "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns", has failed to live up to trade analysts and audiences' expectations.
The pre-release buzz surrounding the film was dull and it continued to remain the same even after it hit theaters across the country.
The opening day figure was slightly disappointing and it failed to show any positive growth in its business during the first weekend as well. The collection on first Monday was also not impressive. The four day total of the action drama stands at ₹27.05 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Here is breakup of the film: Friday ₹7.5 crore, Saturday ₹7 crore, Sunday ₹8.8 crore and Monday ₹3.75 crore.
Looking at these numbers of "Bullett Raja", trade analysts have declared the film a disaster.
"There was nothing exciting in it. Tigmanshu is not a commercial name, so it was unlikely to work because of him. Even the promos and music weren't exciting," Amod Mehra told Hindustan Times.
"It was like taking the audience for granted, and that backfired. It's a big setback for the makers and Saif," he added.
The budget of the film was around ₹60 crore, which is really high, and looking at the first four days' collection it's quite likely that the film will not be able to earn the production cost.
