"Bullett Raja", featuring Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, made a decent opening on Friday, earning ₹7 crore from the domestic box office, according to a report by Koimoi website.
The action-thriller directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia was released on Friday to mixed reviews from critics, with some appreciating the action sequences and punch lines, while others calling it a damp squib.
According to a report by Koimoi website, "Bullett Raja" earned well from U.P and Rjasthan circuits but was disappointing in Delhi-N.C.R and Haryana circuits. It witnessed dull business at multiplexes, while occupancy in single screens picked up.
With the film earning only ₹7 crore on day one, its business on Saturday and Sunday will decide its fate. However, it did better than the recent releases "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" and "Singh Saab the Great" at the box office on the opening day.
"Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, collected ₹2.75 crore on the first day, while "Singh Saab The Great", featuring Sunny Deol, Amrita Rao and Urvashi Rautela, earned ₹6 crore.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela", starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and Rakesh Roshan's film, "Krrish 3", featuring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, will gain, if "Bullett Raja" bombs at the box office.
"Bullett Raja", which is about a commoner revolting against the system in the society, is produced under BrandSmith Motion Pictures and Moving Pictures banners. It also features Jimmy Shergill, Chunky Pandey, Ravi Kishan and Gulshan Grover in important roles, besides lead actors Saif and Sonakshi.
