Akshay Kumar's "Boss" has received a moderate response at overseas box office except for UAE-GCC circuits.
The action comedy film has raked in more than ₹6 crore from UAE-GCC market alone from its five-day extended weekend. But in the rest of the countries the collection was quite average, especially at the US box office.
The film has minted around ₹10.67 crore from UK, US, UAE-GCC, Australia and New Zealand box offices in its opening weekend.
Following is the breakup of the overseas data of the film: UK ₹2.34 crore (£ 2, 35,086), US ₹1.12 crore ($ 1, 84,000), UAE ₹6.70 crore (AED 40, 00,000), Australia ₹32.88 lakh (A$ 55,346) and New Zealand ₹17.58 lakh (NZ$ 33,798), according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The combined total of the above five circuits of "Boss" is in the same range of Ranbir Kapoor's "Besharam". Both the films have raked in over ₹10 crore from five day weekend.
The mid-week release again proved to be a bad idea for the makers as it affects the first weekend collections, which is very important for the film as it rakes in more money during that time.
After "Besharam" the mid-week release has affected Akshay's "Boss". The reviews and word of mouth is positive, but it is not helping the film to rake in money at box offices.
Meanwhile, the film has earned the production cost of ₹50 crore from overseas and domestic collection centers in its opening weekend.
The combined overseas and domestic weekend total of the film is ₹51.42 crore. The domestic total of the film stands at ₹40.75 crore after five days run.
Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Chennai Express" is continuing its theatrical run at the UK box office. Running in its 11th week, the film has managed to rake in ₹72,796 (£ 731) from 1 screen.
