Rohit Shetty's 2012 blockbuster "Bol Bachchan" has finally entered the elite billion dollar league, collecting over Rs 1 billion at the Indian box office.
The super-hit film, starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Prachi Desai and Asin Thottumkal, entered its third consecutive week and is still entertaining movie buffs with its comedy romance and action themes. Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh, confirmed the news on his Twitter page.
"#BolBachchan hits a ton. Joins 100 cr Club... India: Wed 75 lacs. Total: Rs 100.26 cr nett," Adarsh tweeted.
"#BolBachchan *Week 3* Mon 91 lacs, Tue 85 lacs. Total: Rs 99.51 cr nett," he tweeted.
Director Shetty told IBN on July 12 that the "Wait for 10 days, we'll cross the 100. Don't worry." However, it took 15 days for the movie to enter the Rs 1 billion club.
"Bol Bachchan" collections were affected in the second week and first part of the third week following the release of new films, but the film managed to attract the audiences again.
"Bol Bachchan" is Abhishek's first movie in his acting career that has earned Rs 1 billion. For Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty, this is the third movie of theirs to join the club. Their previous films "Singham" and "Golmaal 3" also successfully collected over Rs 1 billion.
The movie collected Rs 667.2 million in the first week and Rs 909.3 million in the second week, according to Adarsh.

"#BolBachchan collected approx Rs 66.72 cr nett in its Week 1. Business at multiplexes and single screens, both was superb," he kept posting. "#BolBachchan collected approx Rs 24.12 cr nett in Week 2, taking the 2-week total to approx Rs 90.93 cr nett."
