It looks like that year 2012 has not only reeled in luck for Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, but also for other film industry hotshots like Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgan.
The Junior Bachchan's latest release "Bol Bachchan" is doing fantastic at the box office and is attracting an impressive crowd of movie buffs.
The romantic comedy directed by Rohit Shetty had opened to mixed reviews at the box office but had picked up over a period of time.
The movie starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Prachi Desai and Asin Thottumkal is remarkably doing better than "Rowdy Rathore", "Don", "Agneepath", "Ready" and even the Salman Khan-starrer "Bodyguard" in the overseas market.
"#BolBachchan New Zealand Fri NZ$ 18,578. Better than #RowdyRathore 11,320, #Don2 10,161, #Agneepath 12,064, #Ready 11,881, #Bodyguard 16,280," a popular trade analyst and well-known film critic, Taran Adrash, tweeted.
"#BolBachchan Australia Thu A$ 18,561, Fri A$ 35,389. Total: A$ 53,950," he added.
The film critic also remarked that box-office collections hit below expectation levels in some overseas market such as UK. "#BolBachchan UK Fri £ 39,251 on 50 screens. Below expectations!" he said.
However, in some overseas market collections were excellent and attracted a lot of viewers."BolBachchan UAE Thu AED 510,000, Fri AED 720,000. Total: AED 1,230,000 [Rs 1.86 cr]. Excellent," Adarsh tweeted.
"Bol Bachchan", which is marketed towards single screens in tier-II cities across the country, is anticipated to draw around ₹500,000 in the metropolitan areas also, the Times of India said.
The film has seen record advance booking in some cities in India. While in some cities the tickets were completely booked before the release, several other places saw 70 percent of the tickets being booked by Wednesday evening.
