Rohit Shetty's romantic comedy film, "Bol Bachchan" is doing well at the Indian box office as well as overseas market.
The movie starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Prachi Desai and Asin Thottumkal didn't have a very good opening but picked up by around 18% on Saturday.
The film also did well in the overseas market. It got a terrific opening in North America, making it the best debut this summer for any Bollywood film.
The movie released by Fox International Productions has collected over $561,000 from its first three days of the opening, beating Akshay Kumar's "Rowdy Rathore" by 47 percent despite playing in only 98 theatres, according to Boxofficeguru.
The Hollywood Reporter in their review said that Abhishek Bachchan "reveals an unexpectedly subtle side and a talent for verbal humor in one of his best performances to date."
The entertainment news website also mentioned that "Bol Bachchan" is filled with "engaging performances and ever-spiraling hysteria make its two-and-a-half-hour running time fly by."
The movie has successfully gained its position in the top 20 films at the North American box office.
Meanwhile, in India, the movie collected Rs 440 million in its opening weekend, surpassing the opening collection of "Housefull 2" and Ajay Devgan starrer "Singham", which has joined the Rs 1000 million movies club. The movie, however, failed to break the record of "Rowdy Rathore" which collected whopping Rs 480 million at the opening weekend.
The first weekend collection of "Housefull 2" was Rs 420 million, whereas that of "Singham" was Rs 310.07 million. But "Bol Bachchan" managed to collect Rs 440 million in the first weekend itself.
The romantic comedy has given Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan their best opening ever.
