Ravi Teja's "Balupu" has been declared a smash hit in the US with the film collecting more than ₹2 crore by the end of the second weekend.

"Balupu" got off to a rocking start in India as well as in US markets. The film had the biggest-ever opening in Ravi Teja's career, minting ₹3.89 crore on the first day in Andhra Pradesh. The first week collections in AP is pegged at ₹15.31 crore.
The action-comedy flick had the best-ever opening in Tamil Nadu fetching ₹40.25 lakh during the debut weekend (June 28 to 30) from 35 screens. The film is now rocking the overseas box office as well. "Balupu," which grossed ₹1.76 crore ($ 296,447) from 60 screens in its opening weekend, is still going strong in the US despite new releases.
At the end of the second week collections, the film raked in $428,871 [₹2.60 crore] and is declared a smash hit. However, the film failed to beat the collections of another action entertainer -"Baadshah", which was released in April. Jr NTR's film had the biggest opening ever in the actor's career. "Balupu" has so far sustained its business and is going strong at both the domestic and overseas box offices. But it remains to be seen if the film will be able to continue its successful run after Friday (12 July) when Gopi Chand's "Sahasam" gets released. "Sahasam", an adventure film, is all set to release in about 60 locations in the US. It will be Gopi Chand's biggest release.
