Shah Rukh Khan has roped in "Baby Doll" singer Kanika Kapoor for his upcoming film "Happy New Year".
Kapoor rose to fame overnight with her catchy track from "Ragini MMS 2", which had Sunny Leone grooving to the tune.
And now, Shah Rukh and "HNY" director Farah Khan has got Kapoor onboard for a song, which is to be shot on Padukone prominently. The song to be canned in a bar and will have Kapoor collaborating with Dr. Zeus.
"Both SRK and Farah were impressed with the way 'Baby Doll' escalated the fortunes of Ekta's horrex (Ragini MMMS 2). However, instead of the Meet Brothers, Kanika will be collaborating with Dr. Zeus this time," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
The singer further confirmed the development to the tabloid as she let out: "I can assure you that this song (in 'HNY') will be a bigger hit than 'Baby Doll'. It's something that has never been attempted before. People are bored with the same type of songs, they are looking for a change and this will be it!"
Padukone reportedly plays a bar dancer in the film, and the song is understood to feature the actress in that look. The song is expected to be placed right at the film's start, and SRK is also planning to make a remix version of the track.
The superstar had previously done the same for Honey Singh's song "Lungi Dance" in "Chennai Express", which went viral.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Farah had posted on Twitter that she is already a fan of the yet-to-be released title track of the film and thanked music composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani.
"So it's 5am...and I have woken up coz the Happy New Year title track's been playing in my head all night!@VishalDadlani thanks haan!!" the director wrote.
