Jr NTR's latest outing "Baadshah" has done great business at the box office during the opening weekend in the United States.
"Baadshah" which was released in a record number of 110 screens in the US opened to an overwhelming response from moviegoers, becoming the biggest opener for Jr NTR. "Baadshah's" good business has brought a sense of relief for the actor who had three back-to-back flops before its release.
The movie, made on a budget of more than ₹50 crore, collected ₹1.29 crore from 76 locations in the US on its first day of release, smashing the record of "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu's (SVSC)" opening day collections.
According to latest collection reports, "Baadshah" has fetched ₹5.70 crore in its opening weekend in the US. "Telugu film #Baadshah *opening weekend* USA $ 1,045,192 [₹5.70 cr]. MINDBLOWING!," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Even as Jr NTR is reeling from the success of the film, he was dragged into a controversy involving his stills with Jagan Mohan Reddy and Kodali Nani which was used by the YSR Congress party as part of their campaign.
Putting an end to all the speculations, the actor said that he would be with his grandfather's (Sr NTR) Telugu Desam Party throughout his life.
"I'm clarifying yet again that I will stand by grandfather's (Sr NTR) party till my last breath. I'm currently enjoying the success of Baadshah and please let me enjoy it. Don't unnecessarily drag me into all the controversies," said NTR Jr, while addressing the media on the occasion of "Baadshah" success meet on Monday in Hyderabad, The Times of India reported.
With the release of "Baadshah", the actor will shift his focus to his upcoming projects - an untitled film with director Harish Shankar and Santosh Srinivas's "Rabhasa" with Samantha in the female lead.
