Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD) is all set for a worldwide release on 27 September.
The film was set to hit screens on 9 October, but the makers were forced to reschedule the release date after the film's content was illegally leaked online last week.
According to reports, at least 90 minutes of the film was leaked on the internet, shocking the film's unit and the entire Telugu film industry. Several members of the film fraternity tweeted their support of "AD" and condemned the criminal act.
"Attarintiki Daredi" producer BVSN Prasad filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell, requesting them to take immediate action. Just a day after the complaint was filed the Krishna district police cracked the case and arrested five criminals including one production assistant, constable and three others in connection with the footage leak.
According to Krishna District SP, J Prabhakara Rao, the main accused in the case is Chikati Arun Kumar, production/editing assistant in BVSN Prasad's office, who copied the final version of the film and shared the DVD with his constable friend Kassa Ravi Kumar. After watching the film, Ravi Kumar gave a copy to his friend Kishore from Pedana, Krishna district. The film was then uploaded online from a cyber cafe in Machilipatnam. The accused have been booked under the IT Act, Copyright Act 2008 and Section 420.
"Attarintiki Daaredi" producer has been facing issues since August due to the political unrest in Andhra Pradesh. Now, the 90-minute leak from the footage has increased Prasad's financial woes. In a bid to share the producer's responsibility, Pawan Kalyan and the film's director Trivikram Srinivas have offered to return a significant amount of their fees.
The film will release on Friday (27 September). "Attarintiki Daaredi", deemed a family entertainer, has Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha Subash, Nadiya, Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Muralian and Ali in supporting roles.
Expectations are high for the film, as Pawan Kalyan enjoys a massive fan following among Telugu film audience worldwide. The film is expected to get a thunderous opening at the box office.
