Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD) has crossed the ₹20-crore mark in just 20 days at Andhra Pradesh's Nizam area, which is deemed as the heart of any Telugu film's collections. [Also Read: Attarintiki Daredi Likely to Perform Well in 4th Weekend]
"AD" collected its highest share from Nizam area, followed by Ceeded where it has crossed the ₹9 crore mark. The family entertainer is doing good business even after 20 days of its release.
The film has emerged as the biggest hit of 2013 (till date) and has also taken the second spot in the top 10 list of highest grossing (worldwide share) Telugu films, pushing "Gabbar Singh" (₹60.6 crore) to the third spot. The Pawan starrer is estimated to have earned approximately ₹67-₹67.5 crore (worldwide share) in 20 days.
Now, only one question remains in everybody's mind - Will "AD" surpass "Magadheera" worldwide share and emerge as the highest grossing Telugu film ever.
According to AndhraBoxOffice, Ram Charan's "Magadheera" is the highest grosser with a worldwide share of ₹73.1 crore. "AD" needs around ₹6 crore to surpass "Magadheera" collections. However, industry sources told IBTimes India that the Telugu version of "Magadheera" alone has minted ₹77.48 crore share. Still, it is believed that "AD" would break "Magadheera" record and emerge on top if it continues its dream run at the box office.
"AD", which was released on 27 September, became the highest first week grosser earning a worldwide share of ₹49.24 crore at the box office. The film's collections were expected to drop significantly after the release of Jr NTR's "Ramayya Vastavayya" (RV) on 11 October. However, "AD" is still going strong even in its third week, thanks to the negative feedback garnered by "RV", which is expected to have worked in favour of Pawan's film
It remains to be seen if the Trivikram directorial will be able to sustain its momentum, despite the release of Vishnu Manchu's "Doosukeltha" on 17 October (Thursday). If "AD" manages to perform well even in its fourth week, there are high chances that the film will come out as the highest grosser, proving once again that Pawan is an undisputable king of box office.
