Pawan Kalyan's new film "Attarintiki Daredi" has passed the Monday test and continued its housefull streak during the weekdays at the box office.
"Attarintiki Daredi has earned ₹3.73 crore on the fourth day of its release. Although the film's collections have dropped consistently since the second day, the Pawan starrer has managed to smash several records in Andhra Pradesh.
The breakup of the film's fourth day collections is: ₹1.44 crore in Nizam, ₹55 lakh in Ceded, ₹49 lakh in Vizag, ₹28.3 lakh in Guntur, ₹29 lakh in Krishna, ₹28 lakh in East, ₹25 lakh in West and ₹15 lakh in Nellore. The total fourth day collections stand at ₹3.73 crore and the overall figures (four days) in AP is pegged at ₹25.93 crore.
"Attarintiki Daredi" (AD) has surpassed the first week collections of some of the biggest hits of 2013 in just four days. The film has grossed more than the first week figures of Venkatesh-Mahesh Babu's "Seethama Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" (SVSC) in just four days.
The family entertainer has already trumped Prabhas's "Mirchi", which raked in around ₹19 crore in its first week in AP. "Attarintiki Daredi" is likely to have surpassed Ram Charan's "Naayak" collections (around ₹26 crore in one week at AP box office), but it will be confirmed once the film's collection details for Tuesday (1 October) are revealed.
"AD" is doing magnificent business in other states including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In TN, the film has recorded the highest ever opening for a Telugu flick. However, the film's collections are expected to drop from today (Wednesday), owing to other language releases. Two of the most-awaited films of 2013 - "Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumar" (Tamil) and "Besharam" (Hindi) - are hitting the screens on 2 October. As a result, "Attarintiki Daredi" will get limited number of screens, which could hamper its collections.
Kalyan's film is also performing well in the US markets. The film has grossed over ₹10 crore in its first weekend, creating an all-time record for a Telugu film. "Attarintiki Daredi" also has the privilege to be featured in the "top 15 grossers" at the US box office. This year, only three Indian films have registered a good opening in its first weekend in the US so far. Apart from "Attarintiki Daredi", Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" and Ranbir Kapoor's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" had a fantastic opening weekend.
"Attarintiki Daredi" is likely to continue its grand theatrical run, until the release of Jr NTR's "Ramayya Vastavayya" on 10 October.
