"AD" has raked in a total worldwide share of ₹63.31 crore in 17 days, of which a major chunk is contributed by the AP box office. According to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "AD" minted a share of ₹47.35 crore from 27 September till 13 October in AP.
Here is the break-up of 17-day share of "AD" in AP: ₹18.90 crore from Nizam, ₹8.06 crore from Ceded, ₹2.11 crore from Nellore, ₹4.30 crore from Guntur, ₹3.09 crore from Krishna, ₹3.35 crore from East, ₹2.79 crore from west and ₹4.75 crore from Vizag. The film's total AP share stands at ₹47.35 crore.
With Monday (14 October) being a public holiday, "AD" is expected to have made good business at the box office. According to reports, the film has collected a worldwide share of over ₹63 crore in 18 days. As the festive holidays are almost over, "AD" collections are likely to witness a significant drop in the coming days. The Pawan starrer is expected to collect a full run share between ₹66 and ₹68 crore.
Nevertheless, the film has been declared a blockbuster and has also emerged as the second highest grossing Telugu cinema next to Ram Charan's "Magadheera". The Pawan Kalyan starrer has surpassed Mahesh Babu's "Dookudu" (₹56 crore) and powerstar's 2012-blockbuster "Gabbar Singh" (₹60.55 crore) worldwide shares. It took the second spot in the list of top Telugu films. However, the family entertainer might not break "Magadheera" share, which mounts to more than ₹70 crore.
As of now, the Pawan starrer remains to be the biggest hit of 2013. It remains to be seen if any new releases will be able to surpass its collections.
