[Update: Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi Enters 50th Day]
Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD) is all set to complete its 50-day run at the box office on Friday (15 November).
According to reports, "AD" will complete 50 days in approximately 170 theatres - a rare feat for a Telugu film.
The family entertainer has fared well in overseas markets as well. The film has reportedly earned a worldwide share of around ₹73.9 crore at the end of the seventh weekend.
The Pawan Kalyan starrer continues to rake in the moolah despite new releases in the last one month. The film has been declared a blockbuster and the biggest hit of 2013, so far.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, "AD" is about a man who is on a mission to unite his aunt with his grandfather. The film has Boman Irani playing Pawan's grandfather role, while Nadiya plays his aunt. Samantha and Pranitha portray the roles of Nadiya's daughters. The family entertainer also has Rao Ramesh, MS Narayana, Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ali, Posani Krishna Murali among others.
"AD" faced release issues due to the political unrest in Andhra Pradesh. The film, which was initially slated for a 9 August release, was rescheduled owing to the Samaikiandhra protests. Its release date was fixed on 11 October, but the film hit the screens on 27 September due to piracy issues. At least 90 minutes of the film's content were leaked online prior to its release. This forced producer BVSN Prasad to release "AD" on 27 September.
Despite facing issues, "AD" emerged as a big winner at the box office thanks to Pawan Kalyan's star power. The film smashed several records in India as well as overseas markets and still continues its good run at the box office.
