The first look of "2 States", one of the anticipated films of the year, has been unveiled.
Chetan Bhagat posted the film's first poster, featuring leads Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, on social networking sites on Friday.

The film is based on Bhagat's 2009 novel of the same name. The story centers on two individuals from different cultural backgrounds falling in love and ends with their marriage. The book itself is understood to have been inspired from the author's real life experience, as Chetan and his wife belong to two culturally different states.
The first look of the film appears quite interesting as Arjun and Alia are seen as state-crossed lovers on a map of India and attempting to reach each other, implying the geographical and cultural boundaries between them.
The film also marks Bhagat's debut as screenwriter. "2 States" was shot in Delhi, Chennai and Bhagat's alma mater, IIM-Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, dating rumours involving Arjun and Alia have been doing the rounds of late. The "Gunday" actor, however, has dismissed the reports and insisted that he and Alia are just good friends and are not seeing each other.
Produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, "2 States" is set to release on 18 April.
