Xiaomi Mi3 Stocks Sold Out within 1 Hour; Flipkart Opens Pre-Registration for 29 July Sale

The much awaited flagship Xiaomi Mi3 made a remarkable debut in India on Tuesday (22 July) with stocks running out within one hour.

The company opened Mi3 online sale via Flipkart at 12 noon for pre-registered (numbering 100,000 plus, as claimed by Xiaomi) buyers and soon the smartphone stocks ran out exactly in 38 Minutes 50 Seconds.

Overwhelmed by the Mi3 sales, Xiaomi took to its social network platform Facebook to thank Indian fans for their support.

Currently, there is no official word on the actual number of units sold, but there were many disappointed registered consumers who could not buy the device. As a good will gesture, Xiaomi has promised that they will be given priority in the next week's sale, i.e., on 29 July (12:00 PM).

"For those who didn't get to purchase Mi3 today, we know you must be disappointed. We want to make it up to you. For the next sale only, you'll be automatically registered in the next sale," (sic) the company said on its Facebook page.

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Mi3 (priced just ₹13,999) is loaded with feature-rich specifications. It flaunts a 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) IPS Retina display based LCD screen with Aluminum-Magnesium alloy body (with three layers of thermal graphite film).

Under the hood, it comes loaded with Qualcomm's 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor, Adreno 330 graphics engine, sumptuous 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 13.0-megapixel camera, a 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 3,050 mAh battery.
