Earlier on Tuesday (29 July), Xiaomi Mi3 went on for the second sale this month and the response from the public was even more overwhelming than the previous time.
Last week, Xiaomi phone got sold out within 40 minutes; today the company ran out of Mi3 stocks in a record 5 seconds time. Xiaomi boasted the feat on the company's official Facebook page, thanking the fans for the tremendous response.
Though the remarkable record sales does create a good impression on Xiaomi Mi3's popularity, we just cannot assess the ground reality unless the official sales figures are released. If the company sells only 10,000-20,000 units each time they release, simple math dictates that units will certainly fly off the shelves in no time, considering India's huge population. [The subcontinent has more than 240 million people with Internet (broadband/mobile) connection, as per IAMAI- Internet and Mobile Association of India].
This marketing trick of selling the devices in small batches has worked well in China and now we are witnessing the same result in India as well. Beside the quirky business model of the parent company, we cannot ignore the fact that Xiaomi Mi3 is truly a remarkable device, which offer high-end specifications that no other smartphone in sub-₹14,000 price range offer, even some devices priced above ₹25,000 also does not boast few value-added features found in the Xiaomi phone.
Priced just ₹13,999, Xiaomi Mi3 sports a 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android v4.4.2 KitKat (with custom MIUI), full HD display (440 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame and many more feature-rich specifications.
Xiaomi's official e-commerce partner, Flipkart has opened the fresh registration window for users to make themselves eligible to purchase Xiaomi Mi3, which is said to go on for sale again on 5 August. [Interested buyers, click here].
[Note: Registered users who missed out buying Xiaomi Mi3 on 29 July, have to once again apply for registration].
