"Sultan" is the third biggest Bollywood grosser in India with a total box office collection of Rs. 274.45 crore. The sports drama shattered the records of the Hindi version of Aamir's "Dhoom 3," which minted Rs. 271.82 crore.

After a phenomenal first week run, the film recorded good figures in its second week too. But now it remains to be seen whether "Sultan" will have the same hold at the box office in its third week, after the release of Rajinikanth's "Kabali," or not.
Overseas Box Office
While in India "Sultan" became the third biggest grosser, at the overseas box office the film is set to overtake Shah Rukh's "My Name Is Khan." Shah Rukh's film minted $23.5 million at the overseas box office and with a $20.3 million income, "Sultan" is close to beat the record of "My Name Is Khan."
Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial "Sultan," which holds the record of highest opening weekend box office collection overseas, will become the sixth highest grosser at the box office by the end of the second week.
Starring Salman and Anushka as wrestlers, "Sultan" also features Randeep Hooda, Amit Sadh and Kumud Mishra. The film was released in 5,450 screens at the worldwide box office on July 6.
