When the second season of "Witches of East End" returns on Sunday, the lives of the Beauchamp ladies will be made even more difficult now that the portal to Asgard is open.
Freya, played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum, will be seen struggling with her feelings for Killian, whose whereabouts are unknown at the beginning of the season.
"I've obviously made my decision to be with 'Frillian,'" the actress told SAG Foundation, according to Enstarz. "But then as the season starts, we don't know where he is."
But now that she has realised the benefits of being a witch, Freya uses her powers to locate Killian.
"He's not answering me, I've said 'I'm in love with you, you're my soulmate,' but I'm hearing nothing so I'm pretty heartbroken," the actress said, "And then you know, there's a sense of we're witches, so of course our intuition and our sixth senses are really, really strong, so I feel like something's off, something's not right."
Season two will be darker than the previous one, and several supernatural elements will cross over to the East End through the portal.
Fredrick will be one of the firsts to cross over to the East End, and his entry is going to change the Beauchamp family's dynamics. His entry might cost Joanna her life, 680 News quoted Julia Ormond, who is playing Joanna in the series.
"She's really in bad shape and it's not certain she's going to come through," Ormond said. "Frederick is someone who has this tangled, negative past with them, so his coming back brings into their lives from Asgard a character shadowed, veiled in doubt. Are they going to embrace him as a family member? How much flak and forgiveness is he going to be given?"
In addition, season two will feature a lot of adventures for the Beauchamp ladies, and viewers will get to see Asgard through the eyes of Freya and Ingrid. There will be a lot of time travel involved, which will help establish the relationship between several characters.
On what to expect when "Witches of East End" returns, Rachel Boston, who plays Ingrid Beauchamp, told IBTimes US Edition that the whole season will revolve around the theme, "darkness is rising."
"There's a lot of warlocks in Season 2. The whole theme is 'darkness is rising,' and I think that now that the portal to Asgard is open, we don't know what's coming out. And so everyone's really going to have to step into their strengths and their powers and figure out how to hold tight and protect each other. But yes, Dash and Killian are full-blown warlocks now. They have their powers, so we're going to see them explore what that means."
"Witches of East End" Season 2 is set to air on July 6 at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
