Gautam Gulati is easily one of the most popular "Bigg Boss 8" contestants, and was offered films right from the days he was surviving the mad house.
Announcing on Twitter, the suave TV actor confirmed the title of his debut film – "Udanchoo" – a few day ago. But, according to fresh reports, he has walked out of the project.
"Yes, I informed the producer on Thursday. The dates are clashing with a Balaji production which rolls in June. Ekta ma'am will always be my first priority because she gave me my break on television," Mumbai Mirror quoted him as saying.
After the news broke out, there was this theory doing the rounds that it was Salman Khan who had advised him to drop the film. However, Gautam clarified saying the decision was solely his.
"No, he didn't, it would be a big deal for me if he were to guide me. The decision was mine. I want to select what's best for me, irrespective of whether it's a big or small film. Main apni dil ki aawaz sunta hoon," he further added.
As anyone would imagine, to walk out on a project that has already been unveiled might put the makers in a sticky situation. But the "BB8" winner assures that his idea to walk out wouldn't affect much as the film is yet to roll.
Revealing a little about the film, Gautam said it was a family film and so it didn't require him to sign the nudity clause introduced by Ekta for "XXX".
"It covers exposure, shooting of explicit intimate scenes and the use of sexual dialogue. My film is for a family audience and not an erotic drama like XXX. Even if anyone wanted, you can't incorporate provocative visuals or titillating lines," he pointed out.
