"Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" or "Moon Lovers," one of the most awaited K-dramas of 2016, will air on television screens soon and while fans wait with bated breath to watch the TV adaptation of Chinese novel, "Bu Bu Jing Xin," the production team has given fans a new update regarding the show's music.
According to Allkpop, the historical fictional drama's OST will be sung by Girls' Generation member, Taeyeon. She will join a list of other artists who will lend their vocals to the original score. However, Taeyeon's addition makes it special for many fans, who often refer to her as "OST Queen."
The SNSD member's other OSTs such as "If," "Can you Hear Me" and "I Love You" went on to become chart-topping hits and became as popular as the drama itself.
"Scarlet Heart: Ryeo," scheduled to release on Monday, August 29, has roped in some major names from the Korean media industry. This star-studded cast has generated interest among fans, who are looking forward to watching several luminaries such as EXO member Baekhyun, Lee Jong-gi, IU, Girls' Generation member Seohyun and others on screen.
The K-drama show, directed by Kim Kyu-tae, tells the story of Hae-soo (IU), a 21st century woman who travels back in time and lands in the Goryeo dynasty. The plot explores the love story between Hae-Soo and Wang So (Lee Jung-gi) at a time when their personal lives are torn apart by political rivalry, quest for power and jealousy, among other conflicts.
The TV show has already wrapped up its filming and is perhaps in its post-production stage. "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" will air at 10 p.m. KST on Mondays and Tuesdays on SBS.
