Bollywood's alleged couple - Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra, who have kept the media guessing about their relationship for years, will reportedly take the next big step.
Reports suggest that the talented actress will make her relationship official with director Aditya Chopra and a wedding is set for January next year.
"Rani will get married in grand filmi style to Yash Raj Films scion Aditya Chopra in January 2014," a leading tabloid quoted an industry insider as saying.
"The couple is finalising the date according to the shubh mahurat decided by Aditya's mother Pamela in consultation with the family priest," said the source.
It was reported that the date was set in accordance with Punjabi customs that forbid any celebrations for a year following the demise of a family member. Aditya's father, the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, had passed away in October last year.
For the camera shy director Aditya Chopra it will be his second marriage when he ties the knot with Rani. When the couple's secret affair was discovered, Aditya was still married to his first wife and the affair resulted in severe repercussions for the Chopra family with Yash Chopra and wife Pamela disapproving the liaison.
However, things have toned down ever since Rani was actively present in the Chopra household during Yash Chopra's demise.
As for the actress' professional front, Rani is presently shooting for director Pradip Sarkar's "Mardaani" which will be produced under Aditya's production house - Yash Raj Fims (YRF). Rani will essay the role of a cop in the film for which she is undergoing strict physical training.
