The first look of Vikram starrer "Irumugan" was released on Sunday, 10 January. The posters were expected to hit the Internet for Pongal, but surprisingly, the makers have released it well in advance.
It is a vibrant poster that reminds people of Vijay's look in "Puli". The bright colours used in the first look overlap the intense eyes of Vikram in "Irumugan". The unexpected release has made the actor's fans happy.
People were expecting the first look to be released around Pongal. However, the festival season will witness many first look and other releases, apart from four big films. Hence, the plans underwent changes, say reports. Releasing the first look now was a good idea as people have taken notice of "Irumugan" and releasing during the Pongal could have possibly made less impact on the audience.
"Irumugan" has been written and directed by Anand Shankar of "Arima Nambi" fame. It is said to be a mystery thriller in which Nayantara plays the female lead role. The top actress of South India is pairing up with Chiyaan for the first time. Nithya Menen plays the second fiddle in the flick.
Harris Jayaraj has composed the music. RD Rajasekhar will handle the cinematography and Buvan Srinivasan will edit the flick.
After going through a lot of changes from the initial stage, the shooting of "Irumugan" was finally kicked off in December. The film has been bankrolled by Shibu Thameens, who had produced "Puli"; and it has been made with a huge budget.
