Reports that Sri Thenandal Films will produce Vijay and Atlee Kumar's next movie have been finally confirmed. The production house has formally announced their association with the Theri team.
"This is our first film with a big hero like Vijay. We are proud of it. Atlee Kumar and Vijay's combo was successful earlier and we hope they will recreate the magic again," Hema Rukmani, the chief executive officer of Sri Thenandal Films, told a TV channel.
The story of the upcoming movie is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, the father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli and writer of blockbuster films like Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The scripting has reached its final stages and the movie is expected to go on floors soon.
The makers are yet to finalise the heroine. But rumours are rife that Kajal Aggarwal and Nayanthara have been approached, although there is no update on them taking up the project. More details about the cast and crew are yet to be revealed.
Atlee Kumar had earlier teamed up with Vijay in Theri. The movie had turned out to be a hit at the box office. As a result, there is a good buzz around the latest project too.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Vijay's other film, Bairavaa, is almost complete, and only one song remains to be canned. Ilayathalapathy and Keerthy Suresh will reportedly travel to Switzerland to film a duet track.
Bairavaa is bankrolled by Vijaya Productions and directed by Bharathan, who has also written the story and dialogues of the movie. Aparna Vinod, Papri Ghosh, Jagapathi Babu, Sathish, YG Mahendra, Daniel Balaji and others feature in the cast. The film will be out in January 2017.
