Malayali actress Aparna Vinod is the latest addition to the cast of Vijay's upcoming movie. The actress has signed on the dotted lines recently to play the second female lead in the flick, which has Keerthy Suresh playing the role of Ilayathalapathy's love interest.
Speaking to the Times of India, Aparna Vinod has claimed that she never expected to bag such a big film and she is happy to be working with Ilayathalapathy in the film, which is currently being referred to as "Vijay 60." She is raring to join the shoot.
Talking about the role, she said, "I play a village belle, a vital character that will carry the story forward." However, the actress has refused to give away more information about her character in "Vijay 60."
Aparna Vinod further adds that she always wished to work in Kollywood in a lead role. But she does not have any regret to be doing the second female lead as her role has good importance in "Vijay 60."
On the other hand, the "Vijay 60" unit has successfully wrapped up the first schedule of shooting. The first phase was filmed in Chennai after the movie was formally launched on April 11. Now, the team is getting ready for the second schedule, which will begin shortly.
Meanwhile, the buzz is that the first look of "Vijay 60" will be out on the actor's birthday, June 22. Ilayathalapathy will be reportedly seen in dual roles in the flick, which has Sathish, Mime Gopi, Harish Uthaman, Sharath Lohitashwa, Sreeman, YH Mahendra and others in the cast.
The upcoming film is being written and directed by Bharathan, who had earlier directed Ilayathalapathy in "Azhagiya Tamizh Magan." The latest movie, which is being bankrolled by Vijaya Productions, has Santhosh Narayanan's music, Sukumar's cinematography and Praveen KL's editing.
