Varun Tej's Telugu movie "Mukunda" is set to release in theatres on 24 December and clash with popular actor Nithiin's "Chinnadana Nee Kosam" at the box office.
Just a month after Sai Dharam Tej made his acting debut, the mega family is set to introduce another member to the film industry. Nagababu's son Varun Teja is debuting as hero through the movie "Mukunda", which features Pooja Hedge alongside him.
"Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" fame Srikanth Addala has written and directed "Mukunda", which is touted to be a family entertainer with high action quotient. Mickey J Meyer has composed music for the film and its songs have already impressed the viewers and made them wait for the release of the film.
V Manikandan has handled the camera work for "Mukunda", which has been shot in beautiful locales such as Cochin, Alleppey, Konaseema, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram, Samalkota, Pollachi, Kanyakumari, Yanam and Switzerland. The promos of the movie show that his work will be a visual treat.
Pooja Hedge, who is playing the female lead, has already proved her mettle in her debut film "Oka Laila Kosam and her chemistry with Varun Tej will be one of the main highlights of the film, which has bagged a 'U' certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification.
The promos of "Mukunda" have soared up viewers' curiosity sky high. Considering the hype, the makers have planned to release it in a large number of theatres. They have also made ticket booking available well in advance and the film has registered decent amount of bookings for the first weekend.

Slated to hit the screens on Friday, "Mukunda" boasts of several aspects that will boost its collection at the box office, but its business is likely to be affected by director A Karunakaran's "Chinnadana Nee Kosam", which will release in cinema halls across the globe just a day after its release.
Actor Nithiin, who has scored a hat-trick of success with "Ishq", "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" and "Heart Attack", has played the male lead in "Chinnadana Nee Kosam" that features Bollywood actress Mishti, who made her acting debut with Subhash Gai's "Kaanchi". Anoop Rubens has composed music for the film, while I Andrew has handled cinematography.
"Mukunda" and "Chinnadana Nee Kosam" are much-hyped and highly-awaited movies. They have had equal amount of hype and curiosity surrounding them. Trade analysts in Filmnagar predict that this weekend will witness a big clash at the box office.
