Dulquer Salmaan's latest Malayalam movie "Kammatipaadam" is set to gross Rs. 20 lakh at the U.S. box office after completing three weeks of its theatrical run in the overseas market. The thriller has been well accepted by the audience in the U.S.
The Rajeev Ravi-directed movie has collected a gross amount of $2,781 from 9 screens during its third weekend in the American market. The total collection of the film now amounts to $28,482 (Rs. 19.13 lakh) after three weeks, according to Bollywood Hungama.
"Kammatipaadam" was released in Rome on June 12 and will hit the screens all over the GCC and the UAE on ‎June 15‬. Meanwhile, the Dulquer-starrer, which bagged 'A' certification in Kerala, will be released all over the UK box office next week. It has bagged a 12A certification (no one younger than 12 years may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult) with three minor cuts by the British Board of Film Classification.
"Kammatipaadam" has been scripted by actor P Balachandran and it is narrated against the backdrop of a slum in Kochi that paved way for the development of the city. Apart from Dulquer, actors Vinayakan and debutant Manikandan have also been garnering a fabulous response from movie-goers for their performances. The movie also has Shaun Romy, Amalda Liz, Shine Tom Chacko, Suraj Venjarumoodu, Anil Nedumangad, Alencier Ley and Soubin Shahir in prominent roles.
