Turkish police following a raid at a hideout used by the Islamic State (Isis) found several Darth Vader masks in the predominantly Kurdish southeastern province of Diyarbakir, reports said.
The security forces carried out a pre-dawn raid on Monday in the city of Diyarbakir on several homes were Isis terrorists were hiding.
Two police officers were killed and five were injured after a booby-trap kept near a house exploded, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
The Isis terrorists then started shooting at the security forces, who then gunned down seven Islamic State terrorists and detained 15. According to AFP, this was the first time Turkey has clashed with Isis inside the country since it launched air strikes against the Sunni terror group in neighbouring Syria in July.
The police found a huge cache of weapons, ammunition and documents during the raids. The security forces but were surprised to find several Star Wars masks from the shooting site.
A Turkish report said that the Isis fighters wore the mask during the gun fight with the police to shield themselves from shrapnel.
