Naagin 2 continues to rule the Television Rating Points (TRP) charts in week 43 (October 22-October 28) of 2016 as well. The supernatural show, starring Mouni Roy and Karanvir Bohra, has registered 7.9 million views in urban areas, and 12.6 million views among urban and rural areas, according to data released by the television audience measurement agency, the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC). The figures are slightly lower than the show's previous week's report.
Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki continues to remain the second most-watched television show with 11.5 million views among urban and rural areas. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein jumped to the third position with 10.6 million views pushing previous week's third rank holder Kumkum Bhagya to the fourth position (10.49 million views). The ongoing problems in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein pair Ishita and Raman seems to be keeping the audience hooked to the show.
Surprisingly, the first season of Naagin that is being re-telecast at Rishtey channel, too has made it to the top five most-watched shows among the urban and rural areas. The supernatural show, which created a record of sorts by ruling the TRP charts throughout the season, has garnered an impressive TRP of 10.44 million. With this, one can assume the craze the audience has for the Naagin series.
Another supernatural show Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan, which was at the top slot for several weeks, has failed to make it to the list of the five most-watched TV shows in week 43.
As for the ranking of television channels among urban and rural areas, Colors TV continues to make it to the top channel, pushing Star Plus to the second spot. Ongoing reality show Bigg Boss 10, seems to be the reason for Colors TV channel's success. It was followed by Zee Anmol, Zee TV and Sony Pal. The other top channels are Sony SAB, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Utsav, Rishtey and Life OK.
